Explore the roots of Latin jazz and its pioneering artists since the 1940s with Daniel Piper, MIM’s curator for Latin America. Learn about the dynamic musical exchanges between the Latin Caribbean and the United States that fueled this international genre’s development.

Watch a screening of this documentary following the formation and subsequent successes of the Buena Vista Social Club, an ensemble of legendary Cuban musicians.
