The Coalition for Community Control Over the Police formed in February 2005, following the LAPD murder of 13 year old Devin Brown on 83rd and Western. The Coalition has been instrumental in many of the struggles for police accountability and justice over these 2 decades and has stridently organized in the community to enact Peoples' Democracy, majority rule and community control over the public institutions that impact our lives.Now facing the imminent fascist regime of Trump & co., the struggle for community control and Peoples' Democracy is more urgent than ever! Join us Saturday, February 8 at Western and Century, Southeast corner of Jesse Owens Park, to honor the legacy of our struggle and continue to organize and strategize.
