We want to thank everyone once again for coming out to our May Tournament! We learned even more and have now altered our rules to match what we have learned. We hope to see you at this June event and all future events to keep growing with us!
Deck lists will be required.
You may not change the composition of your deck throughout the event; you have to use the same deck in every match.
Playtest Cards are allowed for this Tournament.
Playtest cards must be Easy to read, Not hand written, in English and no thicker than than the other cards in your deck.
It is $30 a head with a start time of 11am.
A game will not start until all players are present or 5 minutes have elapsed in the round. After the 5 minute mark the tournament will not wait for you if you're unprepared or running late, you will take a round 1 game loss and any other tardiness will result in you being asked to leave the event.
Whether or not the late player shows, the pod waiting will receive a five minute extension on the round.

The First rounds are dedicated to earning points in order to make it to the final cut.
Top cut will be 4 or 16 players depending on final player count.
This event will follow the ratio of players to rounds that top deck provides.
16 players or less --Will be 2 rounds of single elimination
17-32 players --Will be 4 rounds of swiss, top 10 cut
33-64 players --Will be 5 rounds of swiss, top 16 cut, top 4 cut

There will be No 3 person or 5 person pods (There will be in byes instead)
For events between 3-24 persons, 3 person pods will be allowed.

Players are seated in a predetermined order established by pairing software with Seat One as the starting player.

Swiss rounds will be 90 minutes each with no turns.
When the time limit is hit the active player finishes their turn and then the game is a draw. All players, including those killed, will be included if a draw is to occur this way.
30 minute Break before final Top Cuts
There is no Time Limit for the Top Cut
Prizing for top cut players only.
Cavern of Souls Prizing to Top Four (Dependent upon having 16 or more players)
Store Credit Prizing for rest of Top four.
You'll need a way to track your life total. A piece of paper and a pen is best. A boogie board is also acceptable. Dice are not allowed, as they're too easily knocked over. A method that displays a history of past life changes will be a huge help in resolving any confusion or disputes that arise over life totals, that being said it is not required to track the history of life gain/loss. Paper spindowns (often given in Pre-Con decks) and plastic life counters are also acceptable choices. If a player wishes to use their phone as a life counter they must include everyone at the table, in order to help prevent any doubt of cheating.
Players at Competitive tournaments are held to a higher standard of play than at FNM or casual play. You should communicate clearly enough everything you're doing, and ensure that you and your opponent are on the same page at all times. It is imperative to Pay attention and keep track of priority order at all times.
Any time you need to shuffle your deck (or a portion of it), make sure you shuffle thoroughly, and present the deck to your opponents for them to cut or tap at their discretion.
If anything goes wrong in your match, you have any questions, or you need to leave the table before the match is over, raise your hand in the air and call "judge!", and a judge will be over to help you shortly. Make sure you're loud enough that they can hear you. Leave your hand raised so that the judge can easily locate you. If for any reason you don't want to ask your question in front of your opponent, you can ask to step away from the table. If you end up making a mistake please try your best to catch the mistake and call the judge. It is completely okay to call a judge for a mistake you've made.
If a judge tells you that you're receiving a Warning, that means you committed some infraction that needs to be tracked. A Warning itself has no effect on your tournament, but if you receive multiple Warnings, they may start being upgraded to turn skips, Game Losses or even result in you being told to leave the event. So, you know, stop doing whatever it is you did.The Gamer's Haven has their own code of conduct posted on the wall for all to view as well. The breaking of these rules may also result in Game loses, you being asked to leave, or even being banned from future events.
If you're watching someone else's game, don't say anything that could potentially be interpreted as gameplay assistance. Do not talk about the game within earshot of the players. Don't make facial expressions or verbal exclamations based on seeing what card somebody just drew or a good play they just made. It's fine to talk to players in a match about things other than the game in progress, like "hey I'm gonna go get food, do you want anything?".
If you think you see a problem in a game you're watching, don't try to fix it yourself or inform the players about the details. Just say "hey, I think there might be a problem, could you pause your game for a moment?" Then call for a judge and explain the potential issue to them away from the table.
The Gamer's Haven will be following many of the rules laid out in the Competitive REL MTR/IPG Addendum for Commander Events TopDeck.gg Rules and Tournament Policies, as well as additional polices/ amendments to better fit our store which are laid out here. Our Head Judge is the final ruling for all questions and Concerns, and has final say on any changes made to pods, wins/loses, warnings issued/retracted, etc. Please keep in mind that this event is not sanctioned by WPN.
