A new ecstatic/conscious dance event is finally happening in Cedar/South Nanaimo!
We have committed to an ongoing Sunday dance temple/ecstatic/conscious dance/whatever-you-want-to-call-it Sunday mornings at 10am with a 90-minute unfacilitated dance and short closing circle at the beautiful and spacious Cedar Hall with its lovely hardwood floor.
Come sweat your prayers to a "5 rhythms" dance wave. We will be offering pre-recorded or streamed playlists to start out with while we get our systems organized and prepare for a weekly (or more often?) ongoing dance offering to reignite and build conscious community in the Nanaimo and Cedar/South Nanaimo/Ladysmith etc. area.
We will set up at 9:30am, dance from 10-11:30, and wrap up with a short closing circle and tidy-up before we vacate the Hall at noon.
Admission by donation. Please support the rental of the hall with your energy, help, or finances.
Not too many rules if people behave themselves...
- CONSENT always required
- No talking on the dance floor
- Sounding and vocalizing is encouraged
- Children allowed if well-behaved/self-contained
- No shoes in the dance space
If you are not familiar with conscious dance style events, please familiarize yourself with some intentions and guidelines from other communities while we develop our own. (thank you to Saltspring and Comox Valley dance temples for theirs)
