CECILIA VALDÉS del compositor Gonzalo Roig es probablemente la más conocida zarzuela cubana desde su estreno en La Habana Cuba en 1932. Su historia de amor y vengaza es basada en la trágica novela de Cirilo Villaverde en la sociedad cubana en los comienzos del siglo 19.  Eglise Gutierrez soprano y un gran elenco bajo la batuta de Mtro. Marlene Urbay y la Florida Chamber Orchestra brindarán un derroche de buen arte y música.

Gonzalo Roig's Zarzuela CECILIA VALDÉS world premiere was in Havana Cuba 1932.

This zarzuela contains mixture of a traditional Cuban music with all his genres forms and vivid rhythms and dances. The storyline is based on Cirilo Villaverde's novel about tragedy of manners love and revenge in colonial Cuban society of the early 19th century.
