This special reception, hosted by the CDF Board of Directors, provides a unique space to connect, reflect, and honor those making an impact.

2024 Advocate for Joy Recipient: Martin "Marty" Rodgers

Martin "Marty" Rodgers is a member of the Children’s Defense Fund Board of Directors and a former CDF employee. As Accenture’s US South market unit lead, he oversees over 24,000 people across 15 states and Puerto Rico, championing financial performance, talent management, and corporate citizenship. A 25-year Accenture veteran, Rodgers launched its for-profit nonprofit practice and previously led the Southeast health and public service business. Before Accenture, he worked on Capitol Hill, contributing to landmark legislation like the creation of AmeriCorps and the recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a National Day of Service. He is a recognized advocate for youth, child well-being, diversity, and social responsibility, and he has received numerous awards, including Savoy magazine's list of influential Black executives. Rodgers also serves on the boards of Notre Dame, The Executive Leadership Council, and several key Washington, D.C. organizations. He holds degrees from Notre Dame and Harvard and lives with his family in Falls Church, VA.
