Senior Minister, Dottie L. Cook is a graduate of Brite Divinity School and Texas Christian University. Before attending Brite, Dottie taught orchestra in middle and high schools; worked for a United Methodist social service agency providing tutoring, summer camps and directing volunteers.

Dottie is part of the Circle of Clergy, an interfaith collaboration working for racial justice and unity in Fort Worth and beyond. She also serves on the board of Operation Bookbag, a newly started non-profit benefitting young men and women in underserved areas. Dottie, along with clergy from Community Christian and Ridglea Christian share a bi-weekly podcast related to the 3 churches study together. We are seeking to strengthen bridges among these three congregations and build bridges across racial diversity.

Recent worship studies have led her to the work of Marcia McFee and Worship Design Studios. This multi-sensory approach to worship series has influenced South Hills worship in person and virtual.

Starting seminary as a United Methodist, Dottie joined the Disciples of Christ as an integral part of her call to ministry. She has served Disciples of Christ churches in Hillsboro and Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to ministry in the local congregation, Dottie has directed summer camps, keynoted Men’s and Women’s retreats, served on the board of Tarrant Churches Together, served as Chair of the Southwest Region Committee on Ministry and with Commissioned Ministers in interviews and training. She also taught a course on ministry in the TCU religion department, supervised seminary students and was a Theological Reflection Group leader with Brite Divinity School.
