CCR 4th Thursday Night Ride: Mario Kart

Sol is leading this week. This will be a typical Thursday social ride but as a bonus, there will be fun mini games to participate in at each stop. Dress up as your favorite Mario Kart character, bring out your bike, and come join the fun.* There will be two (maybe three) stops. At the first stop, there will be a short, fast race featuring items such as mushrooms, stars, banana peels, green/red shells and a few rare items. At the second stop, there will be a battle with green shells that we will throw at each other while on our bikes.** If we have time, there will a third stop with a bonus mini game. There will be prizes!* Costumes are not required but highly encouraged. Also, if you want to come on the social ride but not participate in the mini games, that’s fine as well.
** We will not be throwing actual turtle shells. We will be throwing soft, lightweight frisbees to represent turtle shells. No turtles were harmed in the planning of this ride.
Now on to the usual stuff…
We’ll be riding out at 8pm and return to the starting spot at the end of the ride.
Thursday night rides are approximately 10 miles in distance and between 2 to 2.5 hours in duration. We have one or two stops during the ride, usually parks or bars.
***Rules of the Ride***
*The leader remains in front of the ride at all times.
*Be respectful to others AND of the rules of the road.
*Be proactive in keeping enough space between you and the bike
in front of you in case of an abrupt stop.
*Slower riders stay in the front of the ride to set the pace.
*Try to fill in gaps and keep the ride together.
*No littering
*If you imbibe, do so responsibly, as you are responsible for your own safety.
*There are risks associated with the use of any bicycle that cannot be predicted or avoided, and they are the sole responsibility of the rider.
