Local rockers CCnE bring their special mix of classic RnB/Rock dance tunes to launch the 24th annual University Heights Summer in the Park Concert Series at Old Trolley Barn Park on Friday, July 5. Outdoor evening concerts go from 6-8 p.m. on the grassy lawn at the expansive community park at Adams Avenue and Florida Street.
Playing songs from Aretha to the Temptations, Kinks to Huey Lewis, and even some country tunes, CCnE creates its own renditions that match its guitar, bass and drums groove led by fusion rock guitarist Ed Stocke and fronted by dynamic female vocalist Christy Phares.
“We never play anything just like the record; we put our own heart into every song – plus we’ll be playing some originals at Trolley Barn Park,” Christy said. “We’ll make it an evening that’s both mellow and rocking – and make sure that everybody and their families and friends have a really fun time.”
