CCCB- Human Brain Project Una cartografia del cervell

En aquesta sessió els responsables que lideren el Human Brain Project dialoguen sobre els aspectes clau d’un dels projectes científics més ambiciosos dels darrers temps, dedicat a cartografiar el cervell humà.

El Human Brain Project (HBP), un dels projectes científics estrella de la Unió Europea, va començar el 2013 amb la intenció de comprendre com funciona el cervell humà. Amb l’ajuda de la supercomputació, l’HBP aspira a reproduir tecnològicament les característiques del cervell per transformar àmbits com la neurociència, la medicina i la computació. Gairebé deu anys després de l’inici del projecte, quin és el mapa actual del cervell? Quins són els descobriments que ha permès aquest gran projecte de recerca europeu?

Amb Paweł Świeboda, director del HBP, Egidio d’Angelo, director del Brain Connectivity Center de Pàdua i codirector de l’HBP, Mavi Sánchez Vives, investigadora ICREA responsable de l’àrea de recerca sobre xarxes subjacents a la cognició i la consciència del cervell del HBP, i el professor Ricard Solé (UPF-ICREA), expert en l’anàlisi de sistemes complexos i biologia sintètica i co-comissari de l’exposició «Cervell(s)».

Con la ayuda de la supercomputación, el HBP aspira a reproducir tecnológicamente las características del cerebro para transformar ámbitos como la neurociencia, la medicina y la computación. Casi diez años después del inicio del proyecto, ¿cuál es el mapa actual del cerebro? ¿Cuáles son los descubrimientos que ha permitido este gran proyecto de investigación europeo?

Participarán Paweł Świeboda, director del HBP; Egidio d’Angelo, director del Brain Connectivity Center de Padua y codirector del HBP; Mavi Sánchez Vives, investigadora ICREA responsable del área de investigación sobre redes subyacentes a la cognición y la consciencia del cerebro del HBP, y el profesor Ricard Solé (UPF-ICREA), experto en el análisis de sistemas complejos y biología sintética y cocomisario de la exposición «Cerebro(s)».

Human Brain Project A cartography of the brain

In this session, the leaders of the Human Brain Project will discuss the key aspects of one of the most ambitious scientific projects of recent times, dedicated to the mapping of the human brain.

The Human Brain Project (HBP), one of the European Union's flagship scientific projects, began in 2013 with the aim of understanding how the human brain works. With the help of supercomputing, the HBP aims to technologically reproduce the characteristics of the brain to transform fields such as neuroscience, medicine and computing. Almost ten years after the start of the project, what is the current map of the brain? What are the discoveries that this major European research project has enabled?

With Paweł Świeboda, director of the HBP, Egidio d'Angelo, director of the Brain Connectivity Center in Padua and co-director of the HBP, Mavi Sánchez Vives, ICREA researcher responsible for the research area on networks underlying cognition and consciousness of the HBP brain, and Professor Ricard Solé (UPF-ICREA), expert in the analysis of complex systems and synthetic biology, as well as co-curator of the «Brains(s)» exhibition.
