About Kali Puja
Kali Puja, also known as Shyama Puja, is a significant festival for Bengalis and Hindus worldwide, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Kali, the fierce and compassionate form of the Divine Mother. Kali is revered as the destroyer of evil forces, a protector, and a guide to spiritual liberation. During Kali Puja, devotees light lamps, offer flowers, and chant mantras to invoke her blessings for courage, strength, and prosperity.
Traditionally celebrated on the new moon day of the Hindu month of Kartik, Kali Puja is not only a religious observance but also a cultural festival that brings communities together in joy and reverence.
This festival holds a special place in the hearts of Bengalis, where it is celebrated with grandeur, devotion, and joy. The evening will be filled with the spiritual energy of the puja, followed by cultural performances, music, and delicious prasad (sacred food offering).
