Join Chef Martin Draluck for an intimate evening at Alta Adams celebrating the life and legacy of Cato Alexander — a free Black man, entrepreneur, and one of America’s earliest celebrated bartenders.
Through a four-course tasting menu at the Alta Adams Chef’s Counter, the dinner reimagines the flavors and spirit of Alexander’s 19th-century New York tavern — a place known for warmth, refinement, and mastery of hospitality.
For this special evening, Black Pot Supper Club partners with Tom Bullock’s Bourbon, honoring another name from the early lineage of Black mixology and craftsmanship. Together, these stories highlight the long-standing legacy of Black excellence behind the bar and in the kitchen alike.
This dinner is part of the ongoing Black Pot Supper Club series, where history is plated and the stories of Black American chefs, caterers, and culinary pioneers are brought to life through food and storytelling.
