Cathedral Concert: Amadeus Concert Ensemble

The Cathedral Concert Series is proud to present Amadeus Concert Ensemble, under the direction of Maestro Brian Salesky, in a program titled PIANO PASSIONS, featuring the music of Antonio Vivaldi, Leopold Koželuch, Alessandro Marcello, Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Turina, and Enrique Granados.

This exciting program celebrates the extraordinary versatility of the piano, from the elegant keyboard writing of Koželuch to the passionate Spanish sounds of Falla, Turina, and Granados. The concert will feature internationally acclaimed Taiwanese pianist Dr. Chih-Long Hu, who will join Maestro Salesky as piano soloist. Together, they will be featured in Koželuch’s Keyboard Concerto for Four Hands, while the Amadeus Concert Ensemble will also perform Vivaldi’s Concerto for Strings in D minor, Marcello’s Introduction, Aria, and Presto, Falla’s Pantomime and Ritual Fire Dance from El Amor Brujo, Turina’s Rapsodia Sinfónica, and the Molto Presto movement from Granados’ Piano Quintet. From the intimate beauty of the Baroque to the fiery rhythms and vibrant colors of Spain, PIANO PASSIONS promises an afternoon of virtuosic playing, orchestral brilliance, and music filled with passion and imagination.
