Join us for an unforgettable Cathedral Arts celebration that brings together the arts and our sacred space. This event is unlike anything St. Paul’s Cathedral has offered before and reflects a new and exciting chapter in our artistic life. The evening will open with the horns of the Nola Jazz Band filling our undercroft with gospel style arrangements as guests arrive. At 4:00 PM the Howells Scholars will begin a moving procession with Psalm 130 “Out of the Depths,” followed by a reading from John Z. A trumpeter and organist Kyler Brown will accompany counter-tenor Joshua Boggs in a special performance of “Eternal Source of Light” by George Frideric Handel. The choir will sing the "Agnus Dei” by Paul Halley with organ and saxophone before a movement is sung from the “Creation” by Dan Forrest with choir, narrated by Dean Nicola. After this portion of the program, guests will be invited downstairs to the choir room to share conversation and community as the next part of the program unfolds with the seven-member Nola Jazz Band.
