Catfish Friday Blues & Soul Night on Friday, April 26th in Pine Bluff will feature Vince Johnson & The Plantation Allstars from Memphis. The event is free to attend. Catfish dinners will be available for purchase. The event is being held at the UAPB Business Incubator building at 615 S. Main Street in downtown Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The event is being hosted by Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion Commission, Explore Pine Bluff, Delta Rhythm & Bayous Alliance and the UAPB Business Incubator. Doors open at 6 PM.Vince Johnson and the Plantation Allstars have long been a staple on World Famous Beale Street in Memphis, TN. For over 30 years, Vince Johnson has brought his Chicago soul to mix with the Memphis Blues and spread those Blues to audiences from all over the world. With many performances on Beale Street, three International Blues Challenge appearances, and a Brass Note in the sidewalk to honor the band on Beale Street, the Plantation Allstars have cemented their name in Memphis music history.
Vince’s little brother, Alan Johnson joins him on the bass. BMA winner and Grammy nominated Jeremy Powell has joined him on keys for the past 15 years. Aubrey McCrady brings that Mississippi soul with his master guitar licks. Shannon Johnson rounds out the band on drums. These seasoned musicians, along with Vince combine to bring you the true sound of the Blues, and you will feel like family by the time you leave.
