Celebrate 30 years of Catfight! with Token Hearts and The Brower Sisters Band!Catfight! is an all-female rock band from Atlanta, GA known for their punk/garage influenced music and an unapologetic approach to female representation in the male-dominated rock world. Formed in 1995, Catfight! is more active than ever—in 2024 the band organized and played at “Catfight For Your Rights,” an all-ages benefit for Planned Parenthood that featured eight bands, food vendors, voter registration, and education on harm reduction.
Jennifer Leavey (guitar, vocals) and Katy Graves (bass, vocals) started Catfight! together, and since 2022 Stacy Kerber, who previously played with the Motolitas, has been laying down the beat. Catfight!’s music can be found on on all major streaming services, and they plan to record new music in 2024.
“Catfight!--Juevenile-delinquent grrly action.” Rolling Stone,
‘Imagine the Ramones with the Ronettes singing lead playing punk garage rock and you’ll have a fair image of Catfight!” Ink 19 Magazine
Token Hearts is a sonic mash-up blending catchy pop melodies and vintage cool. Fronted by Patrick O’Connor (aka Buzz Hagstrom from The Woggles) on bass and lead vocals, the band brings together an all-star lineup of Atlanta’s underground music scene. Vocalist-guitarist Buffi Aguero (Tiger! Tiger!) and her Subsonics bandmates Clay Reed (lead guitar) and Sam Leyja (organ) join forces with Will Fratesi, powerhouse drummer of W8ing4UFOs, to create a genre-bending supergroup.
With influences spanning from the cinematic twang of Lee Hazlewood and the experimental vibes of Spacemen 3 to the rock 'n' roll grit of Link Wray, the melodic wit of the Kinks, and the quirky 80's charm of TV Personalities, Token Hearts delivers a fresh yet nostalgic sound. Whether channeling jangly psychedelia or swaggering garage rock, their music is a heartfelt cocktail of eras and attitudes—proof that timeless influences can ignite something unmistakably new.
The Brower Sisters Band is an East Atlanta indie-rock band led by twin sisters Alix and Deary. They became part of the Atlanta music scene in 2023 when they released their first single, “Messed You Up (Skate Park)” and their debut EP – “Old Friends Are New Strangers.” Their songs quickly gained attention from indie radio stations coast to coast.
Recently, they released two singles from their upcoming LP – “Move to Mars” and “Shooting Star (Where’d All the Time Go)”. They were also honored to participate in the Kevn Kinney and Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ tribute project “Let’s Go Dancing.” Their version of the Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ song “Leader the Follow” was released by Tasty Goody Records in Summer 2024.
Performing as a 4-piece, the band includes Drummer Jackson Matayo, and Bassist Travis Lovell. The Brower Sisters Band has played the Argosy/EARL Stage at The East Atlanta Strut, The Masquerade, Eye Drum, and other Atlanta festivals, venues and house shows.
