About this Event
Students for Sustainability at LSUHSC’s New Orleans campus is hosting a rain barrel installation and stormwater management workshop in collaboration with Green Light New Orleans to address the increasing risk of flooding due to climate change and to promote sustainable gardening practices on campus.
This interactive event will take place at the Raised Root Student Garden (number 50 on the campus map),where we experience groundwater accumulation from flash flooding and surface runoff from surrounding parking lots. The garden features 24 beds available for rent by students, faculty, and staff, supported by an automatic watering system.
If you plan to attend please fill out the pre-event survey via forms. This will be emailed to you the week of the event. After the conclusion of the event a post-event survey will be sent to your email or paper copies will be available to fill out. Don't forget to bring your glass recycling!
