Catalyst Quartet

Catalyst Quartet closes the season with Beethoven’s Op. 132, one of the most profound works ever written for string quartet. Framed by music from composers who overcame immense obstacles, this program reflects on resilience, faith, and renewal. Beethoven’s late quartet—written after the composer fell seriously ill—speaks directly to endurance and transcendence, two themes echoed throughout the evening. Catalyst brings clarity, intensity, and contemporary perspective to this monumental score, offering a powerful conclusion to a season that explores Beethoven from every angle. This final concert affirms Beethoven’s enduring relevance and honors the boundless capacity of chamber music to speak across time.
