Casual Classics: Vinícius Sant’Ana

Brazilian-born violinist Vinícius Sant’Ana will be the featured performer at the next Casual Classics concert. Sant’Ana will perform selections by Franck, Piazolla and Copland – composers with connections to Paris.
There is no admission for the performance. No advance ticket purchase or reservations are required. The performance is being presented in partnership with the Hannibal Arts Council, Hannibal Concert Association, Evening Etude Chapter of the Missouri Federation of Music Clubs and the Missouri Arts Council.
Vinícius Sant’Ana has performed internationally in Brazil, China, Japan, Argentina, the Czech Republic, and Italy. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Dakota and his Masters in Music at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. A dedicated educator, he teaches violin and viola, conducts the Suzuki Strings Ensemble in Madison and serves as a violin and chamber music coach for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra. As a performer, Vinícius performs regularly with the Milwaukee and Madison Symphony Orchestras and is a founding member of the Griffon String Quartet, a full-time ensemble based in Door County, WI.
The Casual Classics series offers an accessible way to enjoy “classical music mets community” with a friendly, welcoming vibe rather than a formal atmosphere. The Hannibal Arts Council is more intimate than larger performance spaces - this means a closer, more personal listening experience, and good for people who enjoy relaxed classical concerts or want to experience a classically-based performance for the first time.
