Coolers Icehouse is excited to present its first-ever "Cast Iron Cook-off" on October 26th, celebrating the rich tradition of cast iron cooking! This event promises a day full of mouthwatering food and friendly competition as locals and food enthusiasts put their skills to the test. Competitors will be judged in two unique categories:
"It’s All Gravy Baby": Show off your best gravy or sauce, showcasing the magic of slow-cooked flavors.
"Yes, I’m the Side Piece": Whip up a side dish that’s not just an accompaniment but a true showstopper!
Our panel of judges will evaluate each dish based on taste, presentation, use of cast iron, and overall culinary excellence. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

✨ Most Creative/Unique Gravy
✨ Best Side Dish
Plus, attendees will have the opportunity to get in on the action by sampling the competitors’ entries and voting for their favorite in the ✨ People’s Choice Award✨ Purchase a tasting band for $15 on the day of the event, which gives you access to sample every competitor's dish, a drink ticket, and one ballot to cast your vote.
?‍?For Competitors:
Entry Fee: $50 (includes one bucket of domestic beer). Receive a discount on meat for the event from Lazy K Meat Co.
Prizes: Large cash prizes and various gift baskets for winners in each category!
Set-Up and Cooking: Competitors can arrive as early as 7:00 AM to begin cooking, but check-in opens at 9:00 AM.
Judging: Judging begins at 2:30 PM.
