Soundz Of The South (SOUTH AFRICA)
EN Soundz Of The South is an anarchistic hip hop collective from South Africa. With their unique blend of hip hop, soul and afromusic, they create the soundtrack for revolution. The collective aims to use flow, content and music to build an international counterculture of the workers‘ class that is anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, anti-racist and anti-sexist. New social values and new forms of collective organization that pave a way to a socio-political infrastructure and a liberated society are supported and lived. The collective aims to create international alliances and shared learning spaces with artists and activists. Active since 2008, Soundz of The South regularly organizes concerts and political interventions in public space. Most recently, the album Freedom Warriors Volume 4 was
released.
DE Soundz Of The South ist ein anarchistisches HipHop-Kollektiv aus Südafrika. Mit ihrer einzigartigen Mischung aus HipHop, Soul und Afromusic schaffen sie den Soundtrack für die Revolution. Das Kollektiv möchte mit Flow, Inhalten und Musik eine internationale Gegenkultur der Arbeiter:innenklasse aufbauen, die antiautoritär, antikapitalistisch, antirassistisch und antisexistisch ist. Neue soziale Werte und neue Formen der kollektiven Organisation, die einen Weg zu einer gesellschaftspolitischen Infrastruktur und einer befreiten Gesellschaft ebnen, werden unterstützt und gelebt. Das Kollektiv möchte internationale Bündnisse und gemeinsame Lernräume mit Künstler:innen und Aktivist:innen schaffen. Seid 2008 aktiv, veranstalten Soundz of The South regelmäßig Konzerte und politische Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum. Zuletzt erschien das Album Freedom Warriors Volume 4.

DE Münchens Urban Output Taiga Trece ist Rapperin und als independent Artist unterwegs. Mit ihrem unverwechselbaren Mix aus Deutsch und Spanisch und den eingehenden Beatz baut Taiga Trece Brücken zwischen Welten. Als Frau in der männerdominierten HipHop Szene, beleuchtet sie auf ihre eigene Art und Weise Themen wie Emanzipation und Gewalt, Sehnsucht und Lebensfreude. Breezy (BERLIN/USA)
EN Rapper Breezy embodies more than a cool breeze on a warm summer day. With her music, the Berliner-by-choice remains constantly in motion and thus resembles an entire climate zone between pattering rainfall, hot flashes, purring winds and bursting thunderstorms. The interplay of hip-hop, soul, blues and gospel opens up the sonic space for Breezy’s powerful content: As the queer daughter of a black and a white parent, Breezy’s music explores the meaning, boundaries and belonging of her identity. The self-designation „Mulatto Music“ thereby describes the process of her self-discovery on the one hand, but at the same time reclaims the interpretive sovereignty over this – when used as a description of others – racist term in order to establish an empowering representation of her personality as well as social belonging.
DE Breezy verkörpert mehr als eine kühle Brise an einem warmen Sommertag. Mit ihrer Musik bleibt die Wahlberlinerin ständig in Bewegung und gleicht damit einer ganzen Klimazone zwischen prasselndem Regen, Hitzewallungen, säuselnden Winden und aufziehenden Gewittern. Das Zusammenspiel von HipHop, Soul, Blues und Gospel öffnet den klanglichen Raum für Breezys kraftvollen Inhalt: Als queere Tochter eines schwarzen und eines weißen Elternteils erforscht Breezy in ihrer Musik die Bedeutung, Grenzen und Zugehörigkeit ihrer Identität. Die Selbstbezeichnung „Mulatto Musik“ beschreibt dabei einerseits den Prozess ihrer Selbstfindung, fordert aber gleichzeitig die Deutungshoheit über diesen rassistischen Begriff zurück, um eine ermächtigende Repräsentation ihrer Persönlichkeit wie auch ihrer soziale Zugehörigkeit zu schaffen.
