“Case Amulet” narrates the journey of two women—Jessie, an innocent prosecutor, and Cheryl, a strategic victim (later pharma rep) seeking love and autonomy under the oppressive legal structure and societal expectations. The narrative follows the criminal procedure of a non-consensual-condom-removal case in Beijing, China, while the story reveals the fragility and necessity of trust and connection in a fractured society.
