Join us on the Feast of Pope Saint John Paul the Second for an easy October hike!
On Banner Mountain east of Nevada City, this popular trail offers an almost level walk along a peaceful canal through a forest with many Douglas firs and dogwoods. At 3,200 feet elevation, it is a bit higher and cooler than many local trails. There are several places along the route where views open up briefly to more distant scenery.

- Meet at St. Clare's in Roseville for 8:30 Mass. (1950 Junction Blvd., Roseville, CA 95747)
- Leave at 9:15am.
- Arrive at trailhead by: 10:30am
- 8.6 mile hike but we can make it shorter. Out and back. Bring plenty of water and lunch on the hike.
- Can stop by restaurant in Nevada City or other eatery on the way back.
- back at St. Clare at 7pm
Feel free to take your own car or meet us at the trailhead - just let us know so we can hike with you! Meet at trailhead at 10:30am.
Parking:There are two parking areas, the corner of Gracie /Banner Mountain and about 1/4 way down Gracie there’s a dirt parking area.
