Grab the family and come out for an adventure around the world in Historic Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street) on Saturday, September 28 from 3-9 p.m. for the Carrollton Culture Fest.The previously known World of Foodies event has been enhanced with an enriched cultural experience of more vendors, live entertainment, and a grander celebration of multiple nationalities.
The event is free to attend, and artisan and food vendors will be selling their specialty crafts, novelties, and culturally-themed dishes at varying prices.
This year’s event will again feature a stage on 4th Avenue between the Plaza Arts Center and El Rincon restaurant for musical and dance performances. The day begins with Bandan Koro from 3-4 p.m.; a group from Ms. International Texas will showcase Filipino Traditional Dances from 4:30-5:30 p.m.; the Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe will perform from 5:30-6 p.m.; the DL Dance Art School will be on stage from 6-7 p.m.; and Kathak Rhythms will complete the evening’s entertainment from 7:30-8:45 p.m. All times are subject to change.
Get ready to explore diverse cuisines and artisan goods from around the world. Food and drink vendors will be selling their signature specialties. Artisan vendors will be selling their culturally-diverse novelties and creations. Visit the Korean American Youth Artists of Texas booth to do a kid-friendly craft at the event that aims to be a fun, educational experience.
Before leaving, remember to capture the moment. There will be a professional photobooth on the Square. Take turns posing for photos in front of a colorful backdrop, or choose one of the Dallas Yarn Bombers' talented tree-wrapping creations and have a photoshoot with a friend.
