About this Event

Join the Bella Voce Camerata for a joyful journey around the globe this holiday season. Enjoy familiar and new carols including “Stille Nacht” from Germany, “What Child Is This?” from England, and “Go Tell It on the Mountain” from North America to new discoveries such as “Somerkersfees” from South Africa and “Huānlè Jiāyīn Gē” from China. This program will transport the listener to the far corners of the earth this holiday.

The Bella Voce Camerata was founded in 2014 so that its members could perform some of the great trove of works written for a small vocal chamber ensemble. Among these intimate works are rare gems and extraordinary pieces, which the group is passionate about sharing with its audiences. At its inaugural performance in 2014, the Camerata performed David Lang’s Pulitzer Prize–winning oratorio The Little Match Girl Passion along with excerpts from Dieterich Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri. Other programs have included the works of Arvo Pärt, J.S. Bach, and Henry Purcell, as well as curated programs such as “Sweet Lovers Love the Spring: Music Inspired by the Poetry of Shakespeare,” “A Renaissance Christmas,” and “Six Centuries of Love Songs.” The Camerata has appeared multiple times on “Live from WFMT.” Cash bar.

NOTE: This event is entirely in-person. No virtual tickets are available.
