RMP presents its ever-popular “Carols in the Cathedral” concerts – Melbourne’s premier presentations of traditional Christmas music, carols, and readings, in the stunning setting of St Paul’s Cathedral. A magnificent feast of spectacular fanfares and carols, and glorious Christmas music and verse, performed by massed choirs, superb soloists and majestic brass and percussion, conducted by Andrew Wailes.
This year music will include a feast of festive music by composers from Australia and around the world, including ever-popular classics such as “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “Once in Royal David’s City”, "The Nortn Wind is tossing the leaves", “Joy to the World”, and many more, as well as beautiful works by composers including Peter Cornelius, Dan Forrest, Philip Stopford, Franz Biebl, William G. James, John Rutter, and more!
Featuring the angelic voices of the National Boys Choir of Australia, and outstanding soloists including much-loved tenor Roy Best and the popular Australian bass-baritone Jeremy Kleeman, as well as a specuial guyest appearance by the City of MNelbourne Highland Pipes and Drums.
