Delhi P.Sunder Rajan is a renowned musician( Violin and Vocal artiste), who is a Disciple of
Sangeethabhushanam Pudukkottai Shri V.Janakiraman .Sunder Rajan belongs to a family
steeped in Carnatic music, from the temple town of Kumbakonam.
Sunder Rajan comes in the lineage of the great Flute legend Brahmashri Sarabha Sastrigal.
He has been performing Vocal and Violin concerts for more than four decades now and has
won many awards and titles. Having travelled widely, Delhi Sunder Rajan is a well-known
name in the Music circuit internationally
Sunder Rajan started learning Vocal Music and Violin at the age of 6 and his first concert was
at the age of 9.He was recognized as a child prodigy and at the age of 13 , AIR gave him an
age exemption and made him a graded artiste.
Sunder Rajan has performed vocal concerts all over India and in many prestigious venues all
over the world. His performances have been appreciated by audiences world-wide. He has
received wonderful reviews from leading new papers Like The Indian express, Times of
India, The Hindu and many other popular dailies.
The well-known Music critic Shri Subbudu has appreciated Sunder Rajan’s Music and has
written about him in many newspapers and Magazines.
He has performed with artistes spanning 4 generations from the great stalwarts of yester
years to all the distinguished musicians of today.
Delhi Sunder Rajan has many students all over the world, both in the fields of vocal music
and Violin playing.
He has won many prestigious awards – to name a few -Vaani kala sudhakara, Tantri Nada
Mani by Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham,Nada vallabha, Nadabrahma kala bhooshanam,Isai
Arasar,Excellence awards by many sabhas,He has been honoured by Hindu temple Dayton-
Ohio,USA, and Hindu temple -Omaha Nebraska USA as the Aasthana vidwaan.
Recently he was honoured with the ‘Sangeetha Kala Sagaram’ Award by the Cleveland
Aaradhana Committee, Cleveland , USA, and was also awarded the title of”Sangeetha
Shastra Panditha”

He is a very renowned Guru In the field of Music teaching , Delhi Sunder Rajan has many
students who have taken music as their profession and have established themselves
successfully in the field. He combines his vast experience as a Violin artiste,and a talented
Vocalist to impart the knowledge of our wonderful music to aspiring and dedicated
students.
He is the founder of Maarga, and Maarga USA, which are organizations to promote our
Music and fine arts.
Vid. Sri. Vignesh Thyagarajan
Vignesh Thyagarajan is a disciple of his uncle Vidwan Delhi Sri P. Sunder Rajan and
has been under the tutelage of his Guru for 18 years. He had his initial training under
his mother Smt. Rama Thyagarajan and Sri Susheela Narasimhan. Vignesh is a direct
B-High grade artist of All India Radio (AIR), Chennai, India.
Vignesh has regularly accompanied in the Chennai December Music season concerts
since 2012 in leading sabhas including in the prestigious Madras Music Academy from
2016. Vignesh was awarded the Best Concert Award from the Madras Music Academy
during the 2023 season. He has performed widely throughout the USA and India, in
various states for chamber concerts and festivals. Vignesh has performed numerous
solos and provided violin accompaniment to many USA artists and visiting artists from
India. He has been giving Violin Duets with his sister Aparna Thyagarajan across USA,
India and online social media platforms.
Vignesh has had the privilege of accompanying his Guru, Vidwan Delhi Sri P.
Sunderrajan, in multiple concerts as violin support and violin accompaniment.
Vid. Sri. Poovalur Sriji
POOVALUR SRIJI a prolific composer, performer, educator, an ‘A’ top grade artist recognized by the All India Radio. He studied South Indian Classical music from his father P.A. Venkataraman.
For over five decades Poovalur has performed with the leading artist from both South and North Indian Classical traditions
Poovalur has composed several pieces portraying the South Indian idioms. Poovalur has received several awards from leading institutions, and the album Tabula Rasa, where he has composed and performed with Bela Fleck, V. M. Bhatt and J.P. Chen was nominated for a Grammy. The Taipei Chinese Orchestra commissioned and performed Poovalur’s composition “The Maritime Silk Road”.
He is currently a faculty at the University of North Texas and directs “The Bridge Ensemble”. He has taught at Calarts and the San Diego State University.
