DOUGLAS VON IRVIN’S CARNIVAL have created a genre of music that has been described as the result of Roy Orbison and The Cramps having a baby.
The “Monster” describes the horror films Von Irvin watched as a kid, sometimes serving as muses when he writes lyrics. The “Garage” describes the mad scientist, no-nonsense, punk/garage rock approach to creating fuzzy arrangements with guitars at their core. The “Pop” is about the haunting, melodic hooks lying deep in the heart of each eclectic DVIC song.
