A native of San Antonio, she became a world-renowned poet, storyteller, educator, and performance artist. Yet her work has always been grounded in community and heritage. In addition to hearing Tafolla recite some of her remarkable work, attendees will learn about the many ways she interwove her talents as a storyteller with her passion as a preservationist.
