During the war years, Miranda starred in over a dozen films—becoming one of the highest-paid women in the country by 1945 and a symbol of intercontinental culture. Credited with bringing Brazilian music to audiences worldwide, Miranda’s legacy as a singer, actress, and dancer endures.
