Formed in 1884 in the village of South Elmsall, Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band adopted the name of the local colliery in 1923. This year the band celebrates its 140th anniversary and got off to a flying start qualifying for both the National Championship of Great Britain and the British Open Championship. Under the baton of Resident Conductor David Purkiss, the band has had a very busy concert diary, including returning to the stage for a successful run of The Doncastrian Chalk Circle.Full programme to be confirmed, please check www.leedsconcertseason.co.uk for updates.
