About this Event

This event does not require registration.

Carl for Kids lets your imagination kick up its heels! Visit the characters in Carl Sandburg’s American fairy tales. You’ll meet the wise Potato Faced Blind Man. Hear how Corn Fairies in overalls grow our corn and how the 5 Marvelous Pretzels once amazed the circus. Kids get to ride the Zig-Zag railroad to Rootabaga Country and the Village of Liver and Onions. Drop in and hear stories and characters.

Steve Duchrow is a spoken word performer and musician who has performed the works of Prairie Poets, Carl Sandburg and Vachel Lindsay, at theatre fringe festivals, the Illinois State Library, historic history sites, fairs and festivals.

This program is free and open to all. No registration is required.
