We welcome community to join us for a special event as we highlight the beautiful and life changing work The Navajo Birthworker Coalition is doing in the lens of this documentary.
The Navajo Nation has a rich history of childbirth traditions; yet only a small percentage of those working in midwifery in the United States are Native American. Discover how doulas and midwives-in-training are helping bring Navajo customs to their communities, and the ways they're working to solve the challenges posed by birth in rural settings.
""This film is a celebration of Diné heritage and a call to action," says Amanda Singer, CEO of the Navajo Birthworker Collective. "We are sharing the stories of our birthworkers to honor their dedication and to highlight the critical need for sovereign, community-based care. We are immensely grateful to the W.K.
