For centuries archaeologists have considered round barrows from the Bronze Age to be strictly burial mounds. However, evidence suggests that there is more to deposition at these monuments than just disposal of the dead. Carina Garland, a postgraduate research student at the University of Reading, will discuss her PhD research into the nature and significance of other, odd deposits and what they might mean. The talk will start at 7:30pm in the Lecture Room, Lewes Town Hall BN7 2QS (entrance from Fisher St).
Nearest parking is in West Street car park – continue along Fisher Street then turn right, then shortly turn right into the car park.
Non-members are very welcome at £4, to include refreshments. Free entry for 25 years old or under.
