Carina Chen Wang Cello Recital

On June 22, 2024, Carina Chen Wang will make her solo cello debut following several international awards and performances. Carina's distinguished list of accolades include performances at Carnegie Hall, New York, as a 2020 and 2023 winner of the American Fine Arts Festival "Golden Era" and "Strings of America" international competitions, performances with the Borromeo Music Festival, Switzerland, in Summer of 2022, and a concerto performance with the Tesoro High School Chamber Music Orchestra. She holds the title of Debut Artist from Junior Chamber Music, an organization spanning six Southern California regions awarding only a handful of artists per season, and her esteemed instructors include Dr. Ben Hong, Associate Principal Cello at the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Dr. Myong-Joo Lee on piano.

Carina has been recognized for her acute sensitivity and musical expressivity. She received an invitation to a tour of Spain with the Irvine Classical Players as a solo performer, and was recognized with the honors of California State Honor and Panel Alternate at the 2021 MTAC Advanced-Panel Audition. Carina was selected to represent Tesoro High School in the Orange County Artist of the Year competition, and her mature musicality and interpretations are acknowledged on piano with performances in venues spanning from Carnegie Hall (New York) to Aldorf (Switzerland) and the Cultural Hall of KaohShung (Taiwan).

Carina will make her solo debut at Chamber Music OC's beautiful and modern venue in Lake Forest, California. Her program includes the Bach Cello Suite No.1, Robert Schumann's Fantasie, and the Shostakovich Sonata in D minor performed with her timeless interpretations and timbre.
