About this Event
A conversation inspired by Caribbean Cocktails: Drinks & Bites from the Afro-Latino Diaspora, a collection of cocktail and food recipes that uses the pleasures of the table as an entry point into larger histories of the Caribbean.
Drawing from their forthcoming book Caribbean Cocktails, chef and cocktail creator Nelson German and James Beard Award–winning cookbook writer and culinary anthropologist Andréa Lawson Gray explore how drinks, dishes and ingredients can reveal stories of migration, cultural exchange, creativity and resilience across the region and its diasporas.
The evening begins with a short film trailer screening and a moderated discussion by Liam Mayclem, followed by a book signing and a networking reception featuring drinks and bites from their newly released book.
