About this Event
"Now autumn is here and we’re surrounded by colourful leaves, we’ll be slow-printing directly from nature using leaves and grasses. We’ll coat the plant material in inks and press them into papers, printing with touch and rollers to compose colourful pictures flowing with rhythm and texture. Printing in this intimate way encourages us to pay attention to the detailed shapes and forms of plants. Looking more deeply at the richness and diversity of the natural world can bring pleasure and surprise.”
Penny's Carefree Collage workshops are friendly learning places suitable for all skill levels. You will make personal artworks to decorate your home and give away. We are always working to develop our sensory expresssion and connection with the material.
Photographer and artist, Penny Lutoslawska, trained at Goldsmith's College of Art. She is a creative and practical tutor with long experience in community and educational settings. She is gifted at encouraging others to be creative and reach their artistic potential.
Class structure: Penny will demonstrate the techniques and materials, followed by hands-on making time with individual guidance. There will also be group sharing and reflection time because we learn so much from looking at and talking about our work. There are no strangers here, only friends you’ve yet to meet!
All art materials are provided.
Access and facilities: Bicycle parking in the church car park. Disabled access and toilets at The Old School and car parking adjacent. Car parking also available on Stretten Avenue. You may like to bring an apron and a bag.
