As private companies launch satellites, explore the Moon, and plan for asteroid mining, questions arise: who has the right to tax these activities, and how should the benefits be shared globally? On Wednesday, Nov. 5, all UF students are invited to join the next in our Careers in Public Service series, featuring Dr. Erika Scuderi, a visiting assistant professor at UF’s Levin College of Law. Her research explores the intersection of tax law, public international law, and political philosophy—most notably the emerging challenges of taxing space commerce.
Enjoy coffee, tea, and pastries as you hear firsthand about Dr. Scuderi’s career journey, including challenges she’s overcome and the valuable lessons she’s learned along the way.
Understanding space taxation isn’t just for academics—it’s about shaping policy where law, economics, and technology converge. Join us to hear from a leading scholar, gain practical insights, and see how your education can lead to meaningful and varied careers.
