Career Development Day is not your average job fair. Hosted by and the (UMCI), this event is a high-energy, collaborative workforce experience designed to bridge the gap between ambitious jobseekers and the region’s leading employers in technology, mobility, and advanced manufacturing.

Whether you are an entry-level candidate, a mid-career professional transitioning into tech, or a recent graduate, this day is designed to provide you with the direct connections and professional tools needed to thrive in Detroit’s innovation ecosystem.

1. Direct Access to Top Employers Meet with 15–20 actively hiring employers from the technology, mobility, and clean energy sectors. Engage in meaningful conversations and participate in on-site "mini-interviews."
2. Employer Lightning Rounds Hear directly from the source. Participating companies will deliver 2–5 minute "Lightning Introductions" throughout the day, sharing their company culture, mission, and the specific roles they are looking to fill.
3. Professional Development Workshops Level up your professional presence with sessions led by experts from UMCI.
4. Complimentary Professional Headshots First impressions matter. We are providing a professional photographer on-site to take complimentary headshots for your LinkedIn profile and portfolio.
5. Career Coaching & Resume Reviews Work one-on-one with interview coaches to sharpen your pitch, refine your resume, and get real-time feedback before you walk over to an employer’s booth.
