Connecting Young People to Careers, Opportunities and Their Future
The CACD Career and Workforce Engagement Fair is one of the signature events of our 2026 Summer F.L.A.M.E. (Future Leadership, Access, Mentorship and Employment) Programme. More than a traditional career fair, this interactive event is designed to inspire, inform, and empower young people by connecting them directly with employers, industry professionals, post-secondary institutions, skilled trades, community organizations, and government agencies.
Through engaging conversations, hands-on demonstrations, career showcases, and networking opportunities, participants will gain valuable insights into a wide range of career pathways and the education, skills, and experiences needed to succeed in today's rapidly changing workforce. The Fair encourages students to begin thinking about their future while helping them explore careers that match their interests, talents, and aspirations.
Exhibitors from a variety of sectors—including business, finance, healthcare, technology, engineering, skilled trades, public service, education, media, entrepreneurship, and community development—will provide practical advice, share personal career journeys, and introduce participants to volunteer, mentorship, internship, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities.
As part of the experience, students will participate in a Career Passport Challenge, encouraging them to visit every exhibitor, ask meaningful questions, and discover new possibilities. Interactive displays, technology demonstrations, career simulations, and professional networking activities will ensure that learning is engaging, practical, and memorable.
A special emphasis will also be placed on future-focused careers in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, digital media, environmental sustainability, and innovation, helping young people better understand the opportunities emerging in tomorrow's economy. Workforce readiness activities, including résumé preparation, interview tips, workplace communication, personal branding, and career planning, will further equip participants with the confidence and skills needed for future success.
The Career and Workforce Engagement Fair reflect CACD's commitment to preparing young people not only for employment but for lifelong learning, leadership, civic engagement, and meaningful careers. As an integral part of our Learners to Leaders+ Framework, the event encourages participants to see themselves as future leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and community builders capable of making positive contributions to their workplaces and communities.
Whether exploring career options for the first time or beginning to plan for post-secondary education and employment, students will leave the Fair with new knowledge, valuable connections, greater confidence, and a clearer vision of the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
