Cardrona Bike Park have teamed up with the Queenstown Mountain Bike Festival to host the Peak to Pub Downhill race on Friday morning before the McGazza Mega Train event in Queenstown. The race includes a mass start first to the finish format which will be rowdy and exciting to watch. The course starts from top of the ski resort and finishes at the gates to the historic Cardrona Hotel providing a 1300-metre vertical descent over approximately 14km of single track.
To spread out the competitors and reduce dust there will be a wave starts with Open Male starting 1st followed by Women and then Junior Male and Female competitors. To reduce trail congestion racers can descend any bike park trail to the bottom of the White Star Chairlift after which the join the peak to pub trail all the way to the pub and finish line.
Enter online or on the day, Entry is $40 and includes a single chairlift upload and a return shuttle for drivers to collect vehicles from the resort base area. Discounted lift passes are available for anyone who would like to ride the bike park for the rest of the day.
