Carbon Literacy for VCSE Organisations: Understanding and Reducing Your Carbon Impact
Want to better understand climate change and what your organisation can do to reduce its environmental impact? Keen to learn how businesses measure and manage their greenhouse gas emissions? Join this interactive session to build your carbon literacy and gain practical insights into carbon management.
During the session, you will meet sustainability professionals from Mott MacDonald and WSP, working on the East West Rail Technical Delivery Partner contract. The session will:
- Introduce the science behind climate change and the greenhouse gas effect
- Explore the local, national and international impacts of climate change
- Help you understand Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions
- Demonstrate how organisations quantify emissions using GHG Protocol best practice
- Introduce PAS 2080:2023 carbon management principles
- Explore practical opportunities to reduce your organisation's carbon footprint
The session will be structured in a two-way conversation format, allowing you to share your experiences, discuss challenges facing your organisation and ask any specific questions. Interactive activities, including a carbon impact quiz, will help bring concepts to life and encourage discussion.
