About this Event

If you're missing traveling, the music of "Caravan Tales" mixes rhythms, sounds, and songs from different cultures in the world through the jazz idiomatic realm. A voyage of eclectic impressions, melodic emotions, and exotic grooves.

Jerome Degey is a platinum and gold album producer, arranger, and guitarist from Paris-France, now living in Nashville. With his French and Afro-Caribbean family heritage and a long immersion into the Brazilian culture, he naturally blends jazz, soul, world music, and "popular songs" in his musical choices.

Born in Italy to Dominican parents, Giovanni Rodriguez is a Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer-arranger, and session musician based in Nashville. He is also the bandleader of the "Music City Latin Orchestra," "Giovanni Rodriguez & 12 Manos," and "Music City Soul Breakers."

Since 2006 Derrek Phillips has worked with Bonnie Tyler, Dr. John, Alison Kraus, John Carter Cash, James Otto, Jimmy Hall, Tommy Sims, Delbert Mcclinton, Gary Nicholson, Rachel Lampa, Irma Thomas, Kurt Elling, Even Stevens, Charlie Hunter, The Mccrary Sisters, Charlie Peacock, Jack Pearson, Shelly Fairchild, Erin Bode, Greg Osby, Ronny Jordan, Dave Douglas and Lee Fields. Phillip’s drumming can be heard on the “Nashville” TV show soundtrack Season 5 Volume 3, Vanessa Williams’ “The Real Thing”, Michael Mcdonald’s “This Christmas”, and Robben Ford’s “Purple House” among many others. In 2009 Derrek released his own solo project entitled Derrek Phillips’ Manufactory. The music is a unique blend of hip-hop, r, electronica, drum-n-bass, jazz, and spoken word. The recording, “Offering”, is out on Rope-a-dope Records.

Charles Treadway is considered the top organist in Nashville. He has played with the finest jazz and blues musicians and beyond in various settings and is reminiscent of Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Jimmy McGriff, and other greats.
