Epic road trips, hiking wins & disasters, home projects that get a little out of hand. Summer’s the time for adventures galore. Shenanigans ensue, as they say.
Tell us about a time when it all backfired. Did you find yourself wandering in the desert—literally or metaphorically? Did you or someone you know have a brush with mortality? Even if it just felt that way the 15th time you got dragged onto a roller coaster you couldn’t tell anyone you were deathly afraid of?
Perhaps you, like me, had to confront the fact that you’d spent more hours planning your untimely death than actually living a real life. Did you come out of hiding in your fantasy, only to be confronted with the fact that the real world was less or more scary than you thought?
Whatever your story—adventure and triumph, or dashed hopes and skinned knees, we’ll be waiting as we always are, on the second Tuesdays of the month, at Manuel’s Tavern. (Our constant safe haven.) While the show begins at 7p, we encourage folx to get there early to get their orders in with the finest wait staff in town.
As a reminder, we welcome story listeners and storytellers alike—just as long as you’re a connoisseur of stories (and of Manuel’s food).

We tend to be at Manuel’s by 6p on the night of the show. If you’d like a little coaching as you prepare to get up on that mic, please feel free to arrive in the hour before to talk through your story’s points for some potential ideas or help with shaping it. We always need volunteers to make our events run like clockwork. Roles include:
*greet people at the door & encourage sign-ups
*keep up the tradition with timing stories
