Cara Van Thorn hits the Big Top for a night of swing, goth, pop and rock and roll jams! Without a G., a CVT alum, opens the show!Cara Van Thorn isn't quite jazz, isn't quite rock, and definitely isn't afraid to get a little weird. This genre-bending project leans hard into theatrical noir - blending moody cabaret, gothic jazz, and a streak of neo-burlesque mischief. Think smoky speakeasy meets Tim Burton's subconscious. Their sound twists and turns: smooth vocals and erupt into anthem, piano that dances and punches, and a rotating cast of instruments that keeps things unpredictable. One moment you're haunted, the next you're hooked. Their songs hit like stories - fierce and strange tales of heartbreak, self-reckoning, demons (imagined and otherwise), and the occasional apocalypse. The harmonies are tight, the lyrics dark and clever, and the whole thing might leave you with goosebumps you can't explain. If Blondie, Evanescense, and Tori Amos all shared a bottle of absinthe, you'd get something close to Cara Van Thorn. Just don't expect to walk away unaffected.
