Car-Free Mountain Escape: Easy Hike to Selvino with Cable Car Return

As a foreigner myself, I often find that my mountain days are spent surrounded by Italians — which I love, and it’s great for my Italian — but sometimes I miss the ease of chatting in a language that feels more natural to me.

And as a city girl, I’ve also learned not to fully trust Italians when they say a trail is “easy.” This one really is! Tried, tested, and even blogged about — some readers have followed the route on their own, which gave me the idea to organize it as a group outing.

So if you’re living around the Milan–Bergamo–Brescia area and looking for a relaxed, English-friendly hike, this one’s for you.

🥾 The plan

• Starting from Albino at 10 AM.  After registering, you’ll get info on how to reach the start point by train or where to park if you’re driving.

• Walk uphill to Selvino (about 6 km), easy–moderate difficulty, suitable for most casual walkers.
• Enjoy a stroll around Selvino’s center, grab lunch or coffee together, and take photos from the panoramic spots.
• We’ll take the Selvino–Albino cable car back down — a fun, scenic ride with great views.
• Expected finish: around 4 PM back in Albino.
