Capturing Cars: An Introduction to Automotive Photography

In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of automotive photography and how to approach photographing cars with confidence!

We’ll cover the basics of camera settings, composition, lighting, gear, and shooting techniques while exploring what goes into creating a great automotive photo.

I’ll share the techniques and approaches I use when photographing cars, from deciding where to position yourself and choosing the right angle to understanding how your camera settings can change the look of an image.

Hands-On Learning from 11:00am-12:00pm

This isn't just a class where you'll sit and listen to a presentation. We'll take what we learn and put it into practice.

You'll have the opportunity to photograph a vehicle, experiment with different compositions and camera settings, and see firsthand how changing your position, lens, or lighting can completely change the final image.

Whether you're completely new to photography, looking to get into automotive photography, or simply want to improve the car photos you're already taking, this course will give you a solid foundation and practical techniques you can continue to build on.

My name is Rigo! I’ve been passionate about photography for the past eight years and have spent the last three years building my professional career as an automotive photographer. I photograph all types of vehicles, from classic cars to modern hypercars, and have had the opportunity to partner with PolarPro on product launches as well as provide media coverage for local automotive events.

My passion for automotive photography comes from my love of cars. Ever since I was young, I’ve had posters of my dream cars covering my bedroom walls. Now, having a camera in my hands gives me the opportunity to stand in front of some of those same dream cars and capture them through my own perspective.

More than anything, I have a strong passion for helping others. Whether this is your first time picking up a camera or you're interested in pursuing automotive photography professionally, my goal is to share what I’ve learned, help you build your confidence, and hopefully be a guide along your journey toward accomplishing your own photography goals.
