About this Event
In this three-hour, hands-on workshop, you’ll take a deeper dive into the portable photography equipment the Ballards use to capture photos and videos around the world for the likes of Lonely Planet, ABC-TV, Google, and more. This includes smartphone settings for shooting 4K video and high-resolution photos as well as the cameras and accessories they use under water for diving and snorkeling, during high-action experiences like sky diving and camel riding (there’s always a camel!), and for aerial imagery with and without a drone. You will have the opportunity to experiment with their gear and are encouraged to bring your own as well for interactive exercises using the photography principles they shared during the introductory class, although that session is not a prerequisite for this course. In addition, they’ll share their tips for editing your images on the fly as well as best practices for file storage and backups.
About the instructors:
Mike and Angela Ballard are passionate about travel. They’ve visited over 150 countries and territories on all seven continents, and they serve as travel correspondents for The Daily Refresh on ABC television (Newschannel 9). In addition to their work in TV, the Ballards are contributors to Lonely Planet, Atlas Obscura, Google, The Family Channel, and more. They also manage We Married Adventure, where they share their firsthand experiences from around the world and provide travel coaching for people who want to have adventures of their own.
