The Capital Region Poetry Slam returns on November 5, 2026 for its 4th year, amplifying the voices of young poets from across the region. This year’s theme "The Future is Listening" challenges Capital Region students in grades 9-12 to claim space, speak truth, and be heard—because the future isn’t just watching. It’s listening.
Student performances will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of local educators and authors, bringing deep experience, insight, and a genuine love of the written and spoken word. Each performer will received written feedback.
Outstanding performances will be recognized with coveted Slam trophies and cash awards:
First Prize: $500
Second Prize: $250
Third Prize: $100
