CAPITAL JAZZ FEST BUS TRIP 2024

The Capital Jazz Fest is one of the premier black music events in the country, featuring over 30 live acts over three days. The Pavilion Stage features live contemporary jazz, while the Symphony Woods Stage (dark on Friday) features live R&B/soul music from the old-school and the new!
2023 Festival Highlights:
The "Friday Night Soul" concert is back! This year, featuring Fantasia and Joe!
The legendary George Benson, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday, will be headlining the Pavilion Stage on Saturday night!
Can You Feel It: A Tribute to Michael Jackson on the Pavilion Stage on Sunday, June 4, featuring several surprise musical guests.
The British are coming! This year's lineup includes performances by several of our musical friends from across the pond including Corinne Bailey Rae, Incognito, Daley, Loose Ends, and Marsha Ambrosius!
First time appearances at the fest this year by 3x Grammy-winning singer Ne-Yo, plus Grammy-winning singer PJ Morton, Grammy-nominated singer/drummer Jamison Ross, singer/trumpeter Johnny Britt (formerly of Impromp2), singer Donell Jones (*U Know What's Up"), 22 year-old pianist Matthew Whitaker, the queen of indie soul Conya Doss, violinist Chelsey Green, and singer Lyfe Jennings ("Must Be Nice")!
"Late Night Soul at The Casino" on Friday, June 2, featuring rising star Kevin Ross, plus Teedra Moses and Mexican-American soul singer Raquel Rodriguez!
Our Official After-Party at the Live! Casino & Hotel on Saturday night, June 3, featuring the legendary DJ Spinderella, plus Secret Society, one of the top party bands in the DMV! Come eat, drink, dance, and mingle with other Capital Jazz fans from across the country!

PAVILION SEATING PACKAGE PER PERSON:
INCLUDES: R/T MOTORCOACH - PITTSBURGH, PA; 4 DAY/3 NIGHT HOTEL; PAVILION SEATING CONCERT TICKETS (FRI/SAT/SUN) AND TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN HOTEL AND VENUE
PRICING PER PERSON: SINGLE $975.00; DOUBLE $775.00; TRIPLE: $675.00; QUAD $575.00 - $150.00 DEPOSIT PER PERSON REQUIRED FOR RESERVATION - MONTHLY PAYMENTS OF $100.00 DUE AT THE END OF EACH MONTH BEGINNING APRIL 30, 2024. FINAL PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY 05/31/2024. TRAVEL INSURANCE OFFERED AT ADDITONAL COST.

VENUE DETAILS:
NOTE: The Capital Jazz Fest is a special event at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Items that are permitted at the festival may or may not be permitted at other Merriweather shows.
Coolers, picnic baskets, knapsacks, and tote bags — allowable, but are subject to inspection prior to entry. Note that food and beverages will be available for purchase at the festival concession areas.
Lawn chairs — allowable on the lawn only. Must be no higher than 36″ from the ground. Taller or larger lawn chairs are restricted to the rear of the lawn seating areas of both stages.
Tents, canopies, and beach umbrellas — allowable only in designated areas of the festival site. Tents and canopies are not allowed on the Pavilion Stage lawn. Tents and canopies may be no wider than 10 feet. Please refer to the seating chart on the TICKET INFORMATION page. All tents, canopies, and beach umbrellas must be removed at the end of each night’s show. Any tents, canopies, or umbrellas left overnight will be removed and discarded.
Beverages — Bottled water and soft drinks are allowed, provided they are in factory-sealed plastic bottles or cans. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages may not be brought onto the festival site.
Smoking — County laws prohibit smoking in all areas of Merriweather Post Pavilion (outdoor and indoor).
No Re-Entry — The venue has a no re-entry policy. Once you depart the festival, you will not be permitted to re-enter. When entering the venue, please bring with you any items you may need during the course of the day (umbrella, sweatshirts, medication, etc.)
Weather — The festival is held rain or shine. Refunds will not be given in the event of inclement weather.
Seat numbers on tickets — Although seat numbers may appear on General Admission tickets, they are for accounting and security purposes only. Reserved seats are not provided for patrons holding General Admission tickets. Only persons holding reserved (Pavilion) tickets will be admitted into the Pavilion seating area.
Accessible seating — Persons requiring mobility accessible seating should contact Ticketmaster at 800.877.7575. Persons requiring hearing or visually accessible seating should call Merriweather at 410.715.5550.
Schedule changes — The festival’s talent lineup and schedule are subject to change without notice.

Suggested Items to Bring:
Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen — to protect you on sunny days.
Portable phone charger — and don’t forget to fully charge your phone before you depart for the festival.
Tote bag — to carry your souvenirs, gifts, and belongings. Note that all bags are subject to inspection prior to entry.
Cash — to purchase souvenirs. Some festival vendors in the Festival Marketplace may not accept credit cards.
Credit card — As of 2021, the food and beverage concessions and box office at Merriweather Post Pavilion is now a “cashless” system. Only credit or debit cards will be accepted for purchases. Note that other vendors at the festival may still accept cash.
Small rain umbrella or rain hat — in case of showers.
Jacket, sweatshirt, and/or sweatpants — The outside temperature can drop significantly after sunset.

Picnic Blanket — if you plan to sit on the grass. (Maximum size allowed is ten feet wide)
Tickets — If you’ve pre-purchased tickets, don’t forget to bring them with you! If your tickets are being held at will call, plan to arrive early to allow time to pick up your tickets. To see box office hours, click on the TICKET INFORMATION link on this page. If you’ve purchased electronic tickets from Ticketmaster, be sure to download them to your phone prior to arriving at the festival. Festival tickets often sell out prior to show day, so you are advised to purchase tickets in advance.
Photo ID — If your tickets are being held at will call, you will need to show a photo ID of the person who purchased the tickets.
Capital Jazz clothing — Get into the Capital Jazz Fest spirit by wearing your vintage Capital Jazz Fest shirt or hat to the festival!
Comfortable pair of shoes — since you may be doing lots of walking throughout the day.
Comfortable clothes — Dress for the weather.
Binoculars — if you’re seated far from the stage.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: The hotel accommodations will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Hanover Arundel Mills BWI Airport. The Hotel address is 7491 New Ridge Rd, Hanover, MD 21076.
Each room is equipped with refrigerator and microwave. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to Live! Casino, Arundel Mills Mall and restaurants within 3 mile radius. Daily breakfast is not included in the price and must be purchased separately.
The hotel has a rooming list for the group with a complete list of names/room assignments. Each person will check in individually upon hotel arrival.

BUS PICKUP/DROPOFF LOCATION ADDRESS: The bus will pickup and drop-off at Bakery Square Parking Garage located at 6425 Penn Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
The bus will load/unload passengers on Dahlem Place which is located behind the parking garage.
